Endocrine Surgery

Endocrine Surgery emerged as a separate sub-specialty in the field of General Surgery in the '70s. The necessity for better surgical treatment for patients with Thyroid, Parathyroid, Adrenal and Pancreatic diseases, lead a handful of surgeons to a more thorough study and training on Endocrine surgery operations. Since then, huge steps forward have been made, in terms of better understanding of the physiology of the Endocrine system, novel surgical procedures, technology advances etc. Today, Endocrine Surgery is considered to be one of the most delicate and detailed surgical sub-specialty, with detailed principles, protocols and guidelines. People in need for surgery for an Endocrine gland problem should be addressing an Endocrine Surgeon, with adequate training and experience, a move that is scientifically proven to give better results, with minimum complication rates.
